is it possible to keep the box on permanently? getting a bit sick of having to wait for it to start up every morning because it's shut itself down. i've been to settings, powersave, standby mode, whats the difference between "normal" and "close menu"? i have automatic powerdown set to off but its still turns its self off after a short period. also i have a samsung 55 inch curved tv and when i power the tv off with the tv remote the satbox turns off aswell, how do i keep the satbox on permanent. thanks everyone

Or disable it on the hdmi cable using a adaptor.
Once CEC is disabled you could put the box in sby overnight and set a power on for every day set to a time before you use the box. Leaving it on 24/7 will thrash the area of the hard disk used for the time shift buffer. This is likely to impact on the service life of the hard disk.

how do i set the box to come on at a certain time in the morning then? and once set, if i were to get up before that time will it still turn on manually before the set time?

General settings
Power-on timerYou can set time on, channel, volume, repeat.
Manual power on should override, but I have never tried it.
