Recently, our HUMAX HDR-1000S fails to start-up, there is no red LED but it's still warm and makes recording sounds. This is strangely, more so during peek time.
We had preformed a factory reset, however, no difference. The only way to cure is a power down, but sometimes it takes several tries. We occasionally have to leave it and try in the morning.

    software UKSFAA 2.02.07
    Loader UKFAA 1.08

    Can anyone help?

I assume there is nothing displayed on the front panel?
If there is I would try playing with the TV source to see if you can force a picture.

It may be that the unit was actually recording before the TV was switched on and the problem relates to a HDMI sync problem. Have you also tried turning the TV off into standby and turning on again?

The only other problem I can think of is a HDMI-CEC control problem - try disabling it on your TV (Search for HDMI-CEC and your TV brand to find out what they call it.)

If no luck, and especially as you say the problem is recent, I would suspect a defective unit (or power supply).

p.s. Should this be under HDR-1000S and not HB-1000S?

The app would have been waking the unit every 20 mins.
Could be unit have been starting but not seizing the HDMI port?
