Why would "BBC transmissions" affect all Freesat channels?
It didn't affect all freesat channels. ITV-HD was viewable on 111, and the epg continued to update. It's likely the box was left on a BBC HD channel when it was shut down so tuned to that on boot found no channels the resulting no signal error locked out everything. After entering 111 to clear the error my box worked on the other channels but entering 106 replicated the issue. The BBC didn't change the frequency of it's HD channels just the Forward Error Correction settings to 3/4. But forgot to initiate the requited transponder database update. The Foxsat-HDR wasn't affected as the correct update was applied during overnight housekeeping. Some PIDS were also changed on BBC4-HD Unfortunately the CF package I have on the Foxsat doesn't check for FEC changes. I posted most of this info when it happened in the Freesat changes log.
Channel Changes after the 3:00am Housekeeping on Tuesday 16-10-2018 to today's (Wednesday 17-10-2018) 3:00 am Housekeeping are:

The factory reset updated the box transponder database from the Freesat home transponder as part of the postcode check so it fixed the problem which presumzably was fixed after a couple of hours or so.
As already said it's nothing to do with Humax, the boxes worked just fine. If you want to complain you need to contact OFCOM as the blame clearly falls on the BBC and Freesat itself.
Once the home transponder data was corrected a Freesat re-tune would have sorted it out as some posters found.
