    Two problems:

    A) sometimes when switching on I get a plain yellow screen. To clear I have to restart the box,

    B) the box sometimes won't record pre-set programmes.

    Any advice gratefully received.

    Welcome to our Forum

    A. If connecting unit to TV with HDMI try switching off HDMI CEC on your TV.

(See This FAQ for different manufacturers names for this)

    B. Are you sure you are only tuned to one transmitter?

(Channels listed in the 800 range is one indicator of this)

    Hi Barry

Thanks for your reply. I have checked the HDMI CEC setting on my TV and this is already switched off.

I do seem to be picking up programmes from 2 transmitters on this TV - one being Yorkshire/Lincolnshire and the other East Midlands. In the town I live in you can actually pick up programmes from 3 transmitters depending on whereabouts you live in the town and strength of signal. They are those two already mentioned before plus one being the West Midlands. Would deleting some of the channels help matters?

Try the manual tuning instructions - see this FAQ

No. You need to do a manual retune to a single transmitter as Barry has suggested.

Tune to the transmitter your aerial is pointing at, the compass bearing from your location for each available transmitter is listed on the DigitalUK web site.
