It would appear that the launch of the 1000S is delayed until 8th October, I wonder if this is a Humax delay or a freesat one...

Not aware that Humax Towers have publically stated a release date.
Only info was from freesat stating later this Month, when they announced <free time>

So freesat simply stated that their <free time> service would be available by end of Sept...

There has been some utter codswallop posted in other places re delivery of this product, including some nonsense about delivery from Far East.
1. The 1000S is not manufactured in the Far East.
2. Expect to be available mid to end of next Week ie from 17 Oct 2012

My HDR-1000S is being delivered from Humax Direct next Thursday 18th. Been a long wait,but really looking forward to it.

Humax Direct have advised some customers by phone despatch 17th delivery 18th October from posts on DS.
Second one states Humax advised, units are imported from Poland

Thank you for the confirmation.
So just over 6 Weeks from the official announcement of freesat <freetime> to hopefully users getting sticky mitts on a unit - not that bad.
