As a long-time Media Center user, I am used to stopping the playback of a recording and being returned to the list of other recorded programs, with nothing (Live TV) playing (i.e. silence).

With the Humax, when I stop playback of a recorded program I immediately get live TV of whichever channel was last used. If I want to check for another recording to watch, I don't want live TV playing.

Is this the way that all PVRs work, so that you can never just turn them on and go to the Home page without live TV playing. Or am I missing something?

Yes, it does. It's not really a complaint, more a question. I am not used to a system operating this way and I don't understand the desirability of live TV playing, albeit in a window, whilst I am browsing my recordings.

But if that's the way it's supposed to be, I'll get used to it

Suppose you were watching a live programme and wanted to check if a specific programme had recorded

Suppose you wanted to set a recording from the guide while watching live TV

Suppose you wanted to check if you had set a programme to record while viewing live
