Hi all, this has just started happening on my three and a half year old HDR1000S recorder, when the machine first boots up the screen you normally get at first with part of the programme guide displayed is at the top left of the tv screen and is tiny.I find to clear this is to disconnect the power supply for a couple of minutes re boot and all is ok, I have done a factory reset but every couple of days the fault re occurs. Also when this fault is on if I press the recording button my list of recordings comes up on the screen but at the top left of the tv screen and is tiny as unable to read it, anyone else had this problem?

What setting do have for the box resolution output ?

If 1080i try 1080p and vice versa. This seems to be a TV issue rather than the box.

Is the TV capable of supporting 1080p50 output ?

A make and model would help.

Hi Graham have set the Humax to 1080p, sorry don,t know what you mean by the tv supporting 1080p50 out put. I have had the box three and a half years and the tv eight months and this problem has just started happening over the last two weeks or so.

An 8 month old TV will support 1080p50. Some earlier HD-Ready TV's could only use 1080i. 1080i is the native signal used by HD channels, If it works on 1080i and not 1080p then your TV will deinterlace to progressive anyway. Try cycling the box through the available output resolutions returning it to 1080p at the end when and if you see this. I had this once a long time ago, in my case shutting the box down and booting it up again fixed it.

Hi POPPY, as Graham suggested I changed the settings on the Humax to 1080P from 1080I and it did the trick. However since last May when I posted this query it has happened once again but on putting the box into stand by and then booting up again it has been fine since. Sorry I can,t be of more help but maybe you could try as I did as per Graham.
