New 1100S - HD recording option not working

    I have a week old 1100S with the 3.00.18 software. When I program a recording in SD which is also available in HD I am not given the on screen option of recording the latter. Anyone else having this? The option to have this is activated.

    Humax support got me to reset the unit to factory default but no change. They say the broadcaster needs to link the SD & HD version for the unit to give me the prompt. They must be doing that as I have no problem with the HD option on my Panasonic BS850EB. Humax Support also suggest I roll back the software but from what I read here that will auto update again to the latest version overnight.

    I think it is significant that the Humax support lady I spoke to before my email discussion with them also did not get the HD option offered when she tried to program her 1100S with a SD program that had a HD option.

    It would help if you could give us some example of programmes
    where SD/HD alternate is not working.

    Thanks for the welcome, Barry.

    Well this is like going to the dentist after a week of suffering pain and it disappears on the day of the appointment! After posting here I went to program a new recording and I was given the option of recording it in HD. So after a week of no success the unit has decided to cooperate with no extra input from me. Thanks for the offer of help but it seems the issue is now closed.

    No worries....in the meantime I had checked out quite a few with no problem.

    If it should happen again then by all means highlight it.
