I've just been through all the menus on my Panasonic Viera TV and I cannot see any mention of anything to do with the HDMI connections.

Is the HDR 1000S connected to HDMI 1 input?

If so try moving it to another.

Yes it is connected to HDMI 1. My Bluray player is in HDMI 2. I will try swapping them over. Thanks for the suggestion Barry.

I don't have a Panny, but this has worked when users have had problems with CEC and other devices.

Have you got anything in the menus that maybe called Viera Link?

With respect to the HDMI handshaking problem I have been experiencing since the latest firmware update.
Even with the HDMI-CEC turned off on my Sony tv I am still having a problem with a blank screen if do not turn on the tv and HDR1000 in the correct sequence. I have to turn on the tv first and then turn on the HDR1000 so I see the HDR 1000 start up graffic on screen other wise I get a blank screen and no sound. This did not happen before the latest update and must be a bug.
How do we report this to get it sorted out?

That's apparently panasonics name for HDMI-CEC control.
I've seen some pics online showing menu options for each device connected.
