I contacted Humax regarding my faulty FVP4000T (frozen on one channel and won't switch off or respond to the remote).
Bought on eBay as new 7 months ago and seller says it has a manufacturer's warranty of 12 months.
Humax says no warranty given for ANY eBay purchases of their products!
This has been problematic for most of the 7 months I've had it and now only fit for the tip! Not at all a happy bunny.

Contact the seller, they are responsible for sorting out any problems.

NO manufacturer offers warranties that apply to subsequent buyers.

More than 30 days have passed so eBay won't do anything.

It's a private sale so you don't have any legal rights after having had it for seven months.

I'm not sure what you mean by subsequent buyer. I bought from a business seller and the box was new?

If a business seller then surely has to adhere to the sale of goods act....if they won't respond and eBay won't help the small claims court I would guess is your next course of action.

That is incorrect, many in fact DO as long as the product has either been registered or is accompanied by proof of purchase.

I agree. Having purchased second hand HP laptops, the warranty was always live from the previous owner. I haven't done this in a while, but see no reason that it has changed.

Humax, to their credit, have now replaced the faulty unit and agreed that the warranty will continue. Service! A rare thing!
