On trying to instant record a Program that is running the picture freezes and the system doesn't respond to instructions..
Remedy.. Switch of the power. Remove the aerial cable from the back. Wait a couple of minutes and replace the aerial and switch the power on then start up the recorder. It will run through several checks and then will start to work again..

    Hi BURT,

The Humax 9200 was brilliant in its early days, but I'm not surprised that it freezes! Has it worked ok upto now? The model was introduced in 2006, a breakthrough in it's day with twin tuner recording. The processor/memory is very underpowered + no more software updates supported. A top tip maybe is to delete down all the channels you don't watch as this slows the box down a lot. Maybe try a few channels to test and see if it still freezes? Have fun! John L

    Hi Jdl,
Ous still works ok except we can't pre book a recording. Need a new circuit board, but we are happy with that as it's been like that for the last 4 years.
Thanks for the info about deleting unused channels if it slows down. Since our remedy the picture hasn't frozen. Our son found this remedy on a 2009 AV Blog

The idea is right but in my experience it is better to do it by deleting all saved channels and then doing a manual tune of the three most used multiplexes.
