I have a power timer set for 0700-0720 on my 5000T. This morning, I noticed that the red light was showing at 0717. I switched on by hand OK using the remote, so the box was not locked up, then checked the timer was still set, which it was. At 0720, it switched off as usual. All very odd.

If I see it again, I will try a power off/on restart.

Out of curiosity, I just changed the power timer to be 1030-1032 and it worked correctly. So who knows what happened earlier. Now set back to usual times.

I have a vague re-collection this has been reported before at a specific time. Adjusting time by one minute fixed it.

Maybe, but I have had it running OK at the current settings for nearly two years. (Err, no - nearly three years!)

Just had a thought. It was not until 0717 that I noticed that it was not showing blue, but I don't know about before that.

I know that there were lift conditions causing problems yesterday, so I wonder if it did switch on at 0700, but found no useable signal on the designated channel (BBC1 SD) and so switched off again.

I don't know what the 5000T does if presented with no signal for a while.

Leave the aerial out overnight. The first boot with it in will take longer because the epg has to re-populate.

Fair point, but I think I will leave well alone and not fiddle with the cabling.

Same again yesterday and today. Doesn't sound good.

I have, at sometime in between, taken the power off and restarted.
