I have just received a response to my email from Humax support.
'Thank you for contacting Humax.
If you would like to use the search option, that is the only way it can be used. That is the design of that search option, unfortunately.'
I do not believe this is a satisfactory answer to what must be a simple software fix. I have let them know my disappointment.
