Mine does the same, it works as expected until you leave the remote alone for a while and at some time it simply forgets the last action.
I've just been playing and have been able to get it to stop working fairly quickly.
Currently on Channel 101
Enter 103 so on Channel 103
Back Channel 101
Back Channel 103 and leave it for 10 seconds
Back Channel 101 and leave it for 10 seconds
Back Does nothing
