    Thanks Barry
Could you advise the name or type of the "Humax Format T2".
so that I can describe it and take up this issue with Sony.
(Don't hold out much hope though with Sony though).
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards John

Same problem here on a Toshiba Regza 42RL853B.

I should also add that recordings made on my old PVR-9200T that I copied to the HDR-T2 play ok on the Toshiba via DLNA.

This suggests Humax have changed that recording format in the T2 or that taking the .ts file off the 9200 and loading it via ftp onto the T2 has 'de-encrypted' it somehow.

NB. only SD recordings here (no HD).

Barry was referring to a .ts file, which an MPEG2 video packaged as a transport stream (hence .ts) It's basically the raw MPEG video stream as received by the DTT decoder in the Humax, written straight to disc as it is received. My PC-based DTT recorder also saves recordings in this format, I suspect it's very common.

I also have a Sony TV and I know, from past experience with recordings made on my PC, that its DLNA client can't handle MPEG transport streams. I have to re-encode the MPEG transport stream to an MPEG programme stream on the PC before I can stream it to the TV.

I don't know how other PVRs make this work - if they actually do. One way mght be to transcode the MPEG transport stream on the fly within the DLNA server code, although there is a risk that the processing power needed for that might not be available when the PVR is trying to do other things like record, play back to a TV on the HDMI port, monitor the EIT for accurate recording etc etc.

Bottom line is that I think Barry is right, Humax aren't going to be strongly motivated to do anything to their box to address your TV's pickiness over the format of DLNA streamed video.

Neither of the Sony TV's mentioned on this thread are DLNA certified according to http://www.dlna.org

However, my TV and and HDR-Fox T2 are certified so should work together. I'll call Toshiba for their help in configuration.

I see an OTA of new software is being broadcast for your TV from Fri 02 Sep, at a quick glance of Sony website can find no details of what is fixed/improved.

The Sony TV was upgraded over a week ago and now runs S/W,
    PKG3.407EUA-0104
On reading what it does there is no reference to fixing "Streaming or Video". It still dosn't work with the Humax recordings over the LAN.
I am considering buying another HDR-FOX T2 and locating it in another room attached to another Sony TV KDL-32W4000.
Again this will also be connected to the LAN.
Will it then be possible to view TV recordings from the other Humax and vice versa on the new one??
I.E Presumably it will be Transparent so recordings made on either of the Humax HDR T2's can be "Streamed" to the opposite TV via the LAN and associated Humax to the TV.
    Thanks John

You can stream HDR to HDR via LAN, no FF or RWD but you can skip or use the central control to navigate through a recording.

If I buy a Humax HD-FOX T2 as against an HDR-FOX T2 I assume that I will be able to stream video from the HDR-FOX T2 to the HD-FOX T2 over the LAN.
My other half may object to the additional cost of the HDR option.

    Many Thanks for your help.

Yes you can do that, but not vice versa - ie HD to HDR

Has anyone gotten an Xbox 360 to act as a DLNA client to the HDR yet?

I had a a very quick look and could not get the Xbox to see the HDR...
