    Hi,

I have a Humax PVR-9150T Freeview recorder box, which I bought in late 2009 and has been working perfectly ever since. But last week, it suddenly lost signal and wouldn't show any Freeview channels. There's nothing wrong with the aerial - the signal goes through to my digital TV, which is still receiving correctly. I've tried automatic and manual search, and it won't find any channels at all. Any idea what might be wrong with it?

    Thanks

    Ben

    Welcome to our Forum

As you state TV is receiving ok then I would carry out a default settings to start with.

OK - thanks; I'll give that a go and let you know what happens.

I tried applying a factory reset but that didn't work. Next week I'll take it to someone else's house and try it on a different aerial.

I finally got round to trying my Humax box on another aerial. It didn't work. So presumably that means my tuner is dead. If so, is there anything I can do about it, or does the box have to go in the bin?

It would appear that you have covered all bases and the unit is in fact faulty - time for a replacement?

Yes, I suspect so. Although in the meantime, we've upgraded to a smart TV and often catch up on shows via iPlayer. We haven't missed the ability to record stuff - although clearly having a PVR gives a lot more flexibility and doesn't rely on an external server.
