Had a lightning last night and can't get any channels. Able to watch recordings from the box. Tried automatic search and no channels were found. The original channels are still listed on epg but no progams. Tried rebooting. No change.

If the lightning strike was very close then it sounds like it may well have damaged the tuner. I once had front end damage to a communications receiver at work due to a close lightning strike. Might pay to check your aerial and cable for damage before scrapping the 8000, try it on another aerial.

Are you still able to watch things using the TV on its own with the aerial plugged into it direct? If not, then there may be a problem relating to the aerial system. Maybe damage to a masthead amplifier if you have one could be the answer.

SOLVED.
Aerial Splitter/Amplifier Box had blown. Wasn't needed anyway as I only have one TV.
Thanks for help.| Fri 14 Aug 2020 18:12:17 #5 | -
Sounds good, so it took the hit and maybe protected everything else.
Result!

I was just on the verge of ordering a new freeview box when neighbour asked me why I had the splitter. (I couldn't remember it's been ther that long). We took it out of the circuit and everything was ok.
