I've just bought a new Aura, and recorded the lunchtime news on BBC1 HD (channel 101). When I played back the recording it was clearly NOT in HD. At first I thought I'd selected the wrong channel for the recording (1 instead of 101), but I was wrong - the recording was made from channel 101.
Any idea why I might have ended up with an SD recording?

When did you purchase the Aura?

Has it been retuned to pick up the new regional HDBBC channels.

BBC One HD now shows the region as part of the name, in my case BBC One HD Sth (for Southern region)

I bought it direct from the Humax website. Yes it picks up the new channel listings, so channel 101 for me is: "BBC One Lon HD"

I'm watching live TV on channel 101 now, and it also looks distinctly low-res, despite the fact that the "info" shows that the programme is HD (The One Show)
    ???

Check your display settings in the menu settings

Do you mean "HDMI resolution" in the Audio and Video settings?
I've found that if I set this to Auto I get a low-res picture. If I set it to 1080p/60Hz it looks like HD. This seems to be the case for both BBC1 and ITV1.
So it looks like an issue with the automatic detection of the source resolution??
