I can see there are plenty of posts here with remotes not responding, the common theme seems to be that latest versions of software are not up to date.

I switch my unit off every night, so it reloads the version every day. I'm currently on software version A4.38. I'm guessing that by reloading each time it should be loading latest versions in? I can't say I've ever noticed software versions before, but then I've never had problems with it before either. Have I got the latest version? Is it the version I have which is causing a problem? It was fine on Monday 9th July, but went wrong on the Tuesday 10th. I did the usual - change batteries etc, but to no avail. I even ordered a new remote from Amazon, but that has made no difference what so ever (so that's going back!).

I can still switch channels and record by pressing the buttons on the box itself, but it's really annoying that the remote has stopped. Can someone advise me what to do next? If its software versions - then please tell me how to install.

    Many thanks

a4.38 is the loader version, not the software version. To check the software version go to Menu > System > Status, the latest version is 1.00.26.

You say you switch OFF every night, do you mean mains OFF or STANDBY? The unit needs to be in STANDBY for it to download Over The Air (OTA) software transmissions that occur from time to time, by default the unit checks for new software every night at 04:00 providing it is in STANDBY. Have a read of this page.

You can check to see if the remote is emitting an infra-red signal by looking at the transmitting end with a digital camera while pressing a button.
