Hi there, my HD Box which has worked fine to date, has today stopped working.

The initial problem was the volume display on the screen appearing without touching the remote - and then not disappearing - making it not possible to use other functions.

The volume level then started to change without the remote being touched.

The stations then started to scroll without the remote being touched.

I\'ve tried all the normal things. Turned off and on. Restart. Unplugged. Factory reset but the same problem remains.

I bought the unit from John Lewis within the last two years.

    Any ideas - thanks

Which model of Humax box do you have? Have you checked carefully that there isn't another remote control (for different equipment) that has a book on top of it or wedged in a chair or similar?

    Thanks - sorry meant to say it's a HDR-2000T.

Definitely no other remotes around and I've tried moving phones etc away.

Sounds like one or more of your remote control buttons has become stuck down, and so is permanetly sending commands. Take a look and see if one looks lower than the others.

    Welcome to our Forum

I would start by taking the remote out of the vicinity to confirm it is the remote causing the problem.

You could also try taking out the batteries, pressing the OK and 0 (zero) button for 30 seconds, re insert batteries see if that fixes problem.

If you registered product with Humax on purchase you may well have 2 year warranty, you can check this with Humax Support.

Tried that - no joy. Stations scroll regardless of remote's presence.

    No joy with remote restart.

Annoying as it's only 2-3 years old.

Just to prove that the fault is not being caused by an external source, is it possible to temporarily cover the box with something opaque like a black bin bag.

Not knowing that particular box, are there any front panel buttons which maybe causing the problem?
