Restart while watching a recording - frustrating

Had this annoying problem for a while now and have been trying to narrow down the circumstances it happens under. Wondering if anyone else is seeing a similar issue.

Whilst watching a recording the program just stops, screen goes blank and the box does what looks like a soft reset (freesat logo etc.). This seems to coincide with another program being recorded at the same time and within a few minutes of that recording starting. Once the box has restarted the recording is continuing OK and we can resume the recorded program from where it stopped, so it is not a catastrophic crash which takes out the in progress recording and loses the position in the program being watched.

Box is a 1000S running latest 2.02.46 so was hoping it might go away with the new code but it happened again a couple of nights ago when Eastenders had started to record.

Its not a show-stopper (well it is ) as nothing seems to get corrupted but frustrating when you are well in to a recorded program and you get random enforced breaks.

Any suggestions or help much appreciated.

    This from a reliable source:

Some boxes, despite upgrading to 2.02.46 may still have corrupt data stored...

A factory reset will totally clear the cache of all data - you will have to wait approx 20 mins for the On Demand logos, and channel logos to populate, but then should no longer experience the reboot issue.

Note: A factory reset will delete timers and any user settings you may have altered, so make a note.

    Barry, thanks for the suggestion.

We did do a factory reset as described on the previous buggy version of the firmware (suggested in the forums) which did seem to stabilise the box, is this necessary for the new firmware?

Its a bit tedious having to re-enter the schedule again, and some programs like WRC, F1 and MotoGP are not every week so you have to remember to find all those again.

Whilst I know it is a pain, it is your call really, if you want to stop any future problems the reset is advised.

One tip to minimise the pain.

Photograph your schedule using a digital camera. Put up the photos on a laptop/tablet one at a time as you re-enter the channels.

If you have several at around the same time on different channels simply tap in the channel number to instantly jump to the channel epg data.

When combined with the time short cut keys (especially the 24 hour option), it only takes a few minutes to rebuild even a large recording schedule.

If you have changed the box volume from it's default 50% and/or turned off digital surround output, don't forget to reset these.

Another one worth remembering is the automatic shutdown after 3hrs of no remote activity which is enabled by default.
