    Hi,
I have just bought a Humax HDR 1010S and installed a Satellite dish to get Freesat.
However my Hummy 'refuses' to find a satellite even though the Satfinder shows a signal.
Having done the installation myself I re-did the connections, checked wiring etc but still failed.
Out of desperation I connected dish straight to my television and hey presto tele immediately showed Eurobird 28.5E and tuned in to 154 TV channels.
Am I missing a trick here or is my new Hummy faulty?
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Yeah I think you might be slightly off as I believe its supposed to be 28.2E.
I'm sure Graham will be along shortly as he seems to be an expert on such things.

Thanks Gonzo, I realise I'm a nat's whisker off 28.2E, but shouldn't the Hummy pick up all satellites? Why won't it pick up Ebird 28.5E?

Possibly because the G2 box needs access to freesats home transponder.
On your tv do you see channel 407 Fashion One?

Realigned dish to Astra 28.2e using tele, both cables ok on tele, still nothing on box.
Took box back today, exchanged no quibble.
    All working ok now.
    Thanks for trying Gonzo.
