Hi,
Been on with Freeview Support regarding lower signal strength on several channels. These are BBC4 HD BBC News HD and Quest HD.
I was told to carry out an initial scan with aerial lead out then in.
That did help with Live TV but the signal through the Humax is still showing 46/48% strength. All other BBC HD channels are fine.
Have factory reset the box and have Manual tune these channels which are on Ch55.But still the picture breaks up.
Any ideas...have the box quite a few yrs but recordings etc are working fine.
Many Thanks

Those channels are on a on a lower power Mux that is moving to Single Frequency Working and is not available on all transmitters. As adjacent transmitters move to use the same frequency there will be locations that find it hard to receive them.
Without more info like a postcode close to you to identify which is your main transmitter hard to help other than suggest a possible reason.

Hi
Sorry for the re posts..not sure what happened on phone.
Post Code Area is BT67.Freeview had advised me to get aerial checked but not sure it's anything to do with that. It,s an external aerial.

Many ThanksIf your recordings are fine what is the issue you are experiencing?
Providing the aerial is supplying a cleanish signal 50% strength on most HDR-Fox T2s the quality is fine. On my ancient aerial, and wiring, I have to dampen the strength of the signal to below 30% before the quality reading on my HDR-Fox T2s drops below 100% and only then are there issues.

Hi Martin
Signal Quality is 100% on all channels. The ones that have picture break up are 46/48% Strength (Ch55,746000KHz,8MHz,32K,1/16(DVB-T2))
RE recordings...the box is working fine just the 3 channels are unwatchable sometimes.
They are watchable while viewing thru TV only.
My best up is Aerial> Humax> TV..Most of the time I watch Live TV and use box to record.If I record BBC4 HD it,s unwatchable.| Sat 6 Feb 2021 16:18:17 #7 | -

Gerrymac sent me his full post code and I think he should be able to receive the channels carried by the COM7 HD multiplex satisfactorily. My only thought is that the next highest broadcast channel number carried by Divis is 30. I wonder if it is possible that your aerial isn't a wideband type and is a Group A, B or K which will have reduced performance when receiving channel 55; perhaps talk to an aerial installer for his thoughts. Keep in mind that COM7 HD mux isn't likely to be around forever. At one time it was possible it would close in 2020 which it didn't; 2022 in another possible closure date but in a quick search I couldn't find anything authoritative; anybody have more information?

OK Martin
Will have a chat he only lives round the corner. He was up lately changing the multi-plexer which deals with our RTÈ Signal (different aerial/direction)..all them channels through the Humax are all spot on.
Many thanks for taking the time to reply. Will let you know of any updates.
