You can change this in the HB-1000S's audio settings. Change the output from Multichannel to Stereo.
You should then be able to balance the sound possibly by setting the HB-1000S sound to max.| Thu 24 Dec 2015 7:49:18 #2 | -

I have replaced a Sky+ BOX With HDR 1000S and recently have noticed random increases to the volume. It increases by about 20% then seems to slowly revert back to normal before increasing again. No on screen sign that volume is changing. Strangely it seems to occur when the program sound alters significantly. A good example was while watching Mastermind- every time the beeps went at the end of a round the volume went up. Any ideas? I think the sound setting is multichannel. I chose tnis option as the sound comes through a Samsung Blu-ray player with surround sound. Any advice gratefully received!!

I would guess that the surround sound system is doing it. Can you check its settings, look for anything like dynamic .... boost.

Thanks, I'll have a look but still a bit confused why it didn't happen when we had the Sky box. I have already made some changes which are to swap the Humax output from Multichannel to stereo, up the humax volume to 50 and only use the blu-Ray/sound system remote for volume changes. It's early days yet but I haven't noticed the problem yet. I'll be back in touch if it doesn't work!
