STV has confirmed it will launch STV HD on satellite on Monday 28th April 2014. The service will be available for Sky HD subscribers in Glasgow and the west on channel 103, and Sky channel 178 in other areas. Freesat viewers will be able to access STV HD on channel 119..

Only 18 months after I bought the box. It came complete with a statement saying ITV HD included.

ITV HD launched exclusively on Freesat on 7th June 2008 accessed by the red button whenever HD content was available. The Foxsat-hdr had it from the box launch Nov/Dec 2008. Before this it was available on the Foxsat-HD. It still works via the red button on a Foxsat-hdr (at least it did last time I tried it)

Yes, there are occasions when I truly wish that Humax had launched a re-engineered Foxsat rather than the 1000S.

My point is that Humax had a mature product that delivered most of what the market wanted and it could have been re-engineered by Humax to bring it into line with new market needs. Freesat were unfortunately ambitious enough to think that they could do better and failed badly.

ITV HD 1 started today but NI IPlayer or ITV 1+1! Will stick to my London postcode if all that is on offer!
