Similar problem to an earlier post ...I have the TV connected via an HDMI, a VCR connected via a RCA/SCART cable, and the VCR connected to the TV via SCART. When recording to the VCR, I want to turn the TV off. If I do this the Humax turns off too.
Is this cable set up OK?

You need to disable the TVs HDMI CEC control, or if it has the option turn off the setting that allows the switching off of connected HDMI devices.

Your previous posts were Foxsat HDR related, if this is definitely a HB 1000S then it could be HDMI CEC.

If you can tell us the make of TV then someone may be able to point you in the direction of which option to switch off in TV menus....

    Panasonic is viera link
    Samsung is Anynet+
Sony is Bravia link or sync

    etc etc

Thanks for your prompt replies. The TV is a Sony Bravia 32CX52 (bought in France)

No longer have a Sony so cannot remember if you can just turn off the auto switching.

You need to look for Bravia Sync or Link in TV menus and disable it.
