Remote control is same form/factor as DTR 1000T Youview and HDR 1000S freesat freetime products with obviously some button reassignments.
Believe GUI is similar if not same, no other details at this time, more when I have it.
Where it says external power supply does that mean a laptop style power brick with low voltage input to the PVR?
More akin to mobile phone charger you would describe it I guess, PSU plugs directly into mains socket, low power output lead to rear of unit.
Well that's two hideous things about this:
External power supply - looks awful if you can't hide mains sockets behind things. Or in my case I'm short of sockets so for neatness and convenience I buy multi way plugs that you can connect up to 4 mains leads into. Which is hopeless if it's not a mains lead but a plug in power supply.
The DTR-T1000 remote control is the ugliest and nastiness to use of all of the 8 remote controls I currently have. Why Humax have chosen to copy this awful thing is a mystery to me. Maybe it's dirt cheap? The HDR Fox T2 remote is much nicer.
According to your spec list it doesn't have analogue stereo audio phono outputs. So not only is it not suitable for me (see mains lead problem above), it's now not suitable for my parents since they feed analogue audio to their hifi.
Lets just hope our HDR Fox T2s keep working then.

Ah, Red/White (RCA) outs for audio is what my parents would need.
However that is not part of composite out. My parents use the RCA audio outputs plus HDMI to their TV. I'd split this as two items:
Composite video (RCA) out
Stereo audio (RCA) out
Composite is a term applied to video specifically. Composite means nothing in the context of audio. And hey, you can put one more item on the spec sheet doing it my way round.

I agree, external power supplies are acceptable for battery powered equipment like cordless phones and laptops but to have them supplying fixed equipment like a PVR is tacky.
