Is the drive you took out of the Humax a 2.5" drive? In my experience they are usually 3.5" drive and the adapter on your link is for 2.5" drives because it doesn't supply 12V. Something like https://blusas.co.uk/mho.php?loc=https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-Cable-Standard-Connector-Drives/dp/B07SGP11KB/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=usb+to+sata+adapter&tag=blusas008-21&qid=1571664757&sr=8-7 should work.

The Humax drive is 2.5" and the cable fitted perfectly. Just no response.

I'll try the cable you suggest - fingers crossed! Thanks.

Are you sure it is a 2.5" drive? What is the model number of the drive please?
