Transfer recordings HDR 1100s to external HDD

Hi, I have the Humax HDR 1100S and rather than delete recordings I've yet to watch is there a copy/move option whereby I can transfer those to an external HDD with a view to transferring them back at a later date? I did connect the external drive earlier but all I could see was an option to transfer the whole of my recordings which would far exceed the available space on the external drive, I couldn't find an option for just individual recordings. Thank you
