    I have a FVP-5000T Freeview Play (Software build 13 Jan 2021).

Recently a few programs failed to record, so I decided to do a Automatic Channel Search.

Now several channels do not appear (e.g. BBC, ITV, C4, C5 HD channels).

Tuner 1 shows strength as 70%, quality 100%, Tuners 2 & 3 show strength and quality both as 0%

I have repeated the channel search several times over the last 2 days.

Can anyone let me know if the above may be caused by:

    - a problem with my recorder
    - a problem with my aerial etc.
    - a problem with Freeview reception etc.

    thanks,

Signal strength only shows if a tuner is in use. Try setting an instant recording on 3 different channels, each one from a different multiplex.

Edit: Try recording LCN 1 BBC ONE, LCN 3 ITV, and LCN 101 BBC ONE HD

These are on different multiplexes, and will need to use all three tuners, and should show in the signal test screen.

It could be any of the above. Are you doing an Automatic Channel Search? If so are you selecting the 'Smart' search option? If the answer is Yes then try without the Smart option because although it will preserve the schedule of future recordings, it is poorly implemented and often causes problems (perhaps photograph the recording schedule before starting). The signal strength and quality should be perfectly adequate but you might want to check the aerial cabling looking for kinks or poorly made joints that can cause a notch filter that removes a single multiplex.

I set instant recordings on 3 channels/multiplexes, which worked.

I disconnected all aerial cables, reconnected them - and everything now works!!!

I'm not sure why the problem occurred, but at least the system is now working correctly.

thanks for the help & advice.
