    Thanks Barry. Fingers crossed for future changes but reading about this more it looks like it's out of the hands of the manufacturers and is more about government legislation so I won't hold my breath.

    What have you read that leads you to that conclusion? The HDR-FOX T2 streams HD content perfectly happily to another HD or HDR box. It is protected by DTCP-IP presumably to try and enforce it only being viewed rather than recorded without encryption.

    I've probably misunderstood it. On Wikipedia there's a Copy Protection section which references the BBC getting permission from Ofcom to encrypt so I guess it's not exactly legislated.
