    Can anyone help !

I purchased a HD-FOX-T2 from Currys one week before Christmas, I also purchased from Humax a Wi-Fi dongle.

I cannot record onto a USB and I cannot connect to my network with the Humax Dongle. I have found that the unit was updated Feb 2010 (bit fed up with this when I bought it at the end of 2011)

My Humax does not run the new update from my USB stick, I have followed the instructions to the word and tried two different USB sticks.

    Any ideas much welcome.

The most common update problems are a) using the wrong update file (HDR instead of HD) b) not unzipping the file (if downloaded as a zipped file) c) not renaming the file correctly. I take it that none of those apply to you?

Hello Martin, thanks for your reply

    The file name is (hd_fox_t2_upgrade.hdf)

I have formatted the USB stick FAT32

I think I'm unzipping the file correctly through windows (haven't bought winzip)

Once I open and save the file to my desktop I drag & drop the file into my f drive USB not creating a folder.

The only thin I have noticed that even though the download does not automatically run when the set is powered on,
when I look at the file through the Humax set, it is showing a folder on the TV screen

You need to have the USB pen plugged into to the rear USB socket and turn on the box as per instructions which i can't remember right now. Using the front usb socket doesn't work.

Thanks for your replies, its almost 1.30 am and I have now sorted it. I changed my USB stick from 8G to 4G and reformated the stick through Windows7, this completly wipes the drive of old files.

Still had a problem in running the update and it was a daft one, I was using the remote to switch the set back on to run the update, found out on another forum that you have to hold down the on/off button on the set.

Now very impressed with the unit and especially with the TV Portal option.

(Haven't got a USB port at the front, just to the rear of the set)

Glad to see that you have now sorted the problem.

Thanks for your welcome Barry and a excellent site.

Just need to try and see if I can network my Humax HD-FOX-T2 to play files off my PC.

So I probably be back shortly, with more questions.
