A couple of queries on the HB 1100s

    1. Which usb devices are compatible for recordings - portable drives only or can usb memory sticks be used?

    2. Where does the box pick up the real time signal? I had one working on Freesat the other day without a network connection and the epg was 1 hour out, showing 12.00 at 13:00. All the programmes were correctly timed in real time but the epg timings were 1 hour out. Is there somewhere in settings to reset the time to BST?

USB memory sticks cannot be used. In any case the time shift buffering would rapidly use up the write limitations of a usb stick and lead to early failure.

Surprised the box needs a network connection to maintain the epg time. The other boxes other than software updates work OK without a network connection though of course without IP delivered content.

Perhaps the box not being connected to a lnb overnight is the issue rather than the missing network connection. A few simple tests should find out if it's the missing lnb connection overnight that's the cause of the anomally.

The extra day of epg content presumably is added overnight I guess that's the issue rather than the lack of internet connection the day after the required housekeeping was transmitted.

Sounds like it wasn't on the lnb long enough to synchronise the clock - it was only a few minutes.

More likely the time required to refresh the epg to the cached copy from the full serial epg data carried on whatever transponder tuner 1 is using.

Every transponder that carries transponders on the freesat epg carries the full epg in the same way that Freeview- boxes do. It takes about 30 seconds or so to refresh the cached epg.
