Have had my HDR 1000 for over a year now in my uk home, replacing my Sky box and it's expensive subscription. All good there!
Have taken the old Sky box to my home in Paris, had a suitable dish fitted and works well, subscription free picking up uk TV (I've yet to master the french language)
However of course I can't record anything over there. Would the HDR work over there do you think and record for me? Don't want to go through the swapping and testing scenario as partner back in the uk won't be happy if I leave them without a recording box. Wot do you think?
Many thanks

Provided the dish it's connected to is aligned on 28.2E it should work just fine. As you have Sky box working it will be OK. For full working you need two lnb cables (Same as a Sky PVR)

And if your have broadband in your place in Paris, connect the HDR1000 to your router, subscribe (or use a free one) to a SMART DNS service and you can even get all the Freetime goodies - BBC iPlayer, 4OD etc etc!!
