    Hi guys,

New to he forum, just purchased the 1TB 1000 model, very impressed with it, I had a Foxsat model before so have been a Freesat/Humax user for the last 4 years.

My question is regarding video file playback, I am a iMac user and have downloaded a couple of files, they downloaded as MP4 files but I have a converter which I converted the files to xvid/MOV files.

When I plugged my hardrive into the Humax box the files were not even seen by the box, am I doing something wrong? Is there something regarding the video files I'm not understanding or could it be hardrive related?

Thanks in advance for looking at my first post

The 1000S media client is very discriminating as to what file formats it will play. It is almost certainly related to the file content rather than the hardware. After many tries I gave up using it as a media player so can't advise on what specific content will play. Others on this forum are more knowledgeable on file types and codecs.

My HDR1000s will play back common video formats provided they use a transport stream container or .mp4. Audio MP3, MP2 and ac3 (including 5.1). DTS is not passed through to an AV amp.

Compression codec mpeg 2 576i (not tested mpeg2 1080p24 but based on following I imagine it will work.

    H264AVC/MP4 720P 25/50, 1080i50, 1080p24/25/50. Not tested 1080p60.
