Can anyone tell me why the volume control on the remote will work with 'normal'channels', but does not work with HD channels?

    thank You

No longer have foxsats set up so cannot give step by step instructions.

You need to change the audio out settings to stereo.

Or leave the volume control on the Humax at max or near max and use the TV (or sound system) volume control instead.

As a rule I don't use the TV remote, so would like to use Humax remote to do all volumes.

As Barry says changing the audio out to stereo will do that.
The reason for this is the sound encoding on certain HD programmes is encoded with the picture and is decoded by the TV or sound system.

The lack of volume control on HD channels is down to the Dolby Digital audio used on HD. The answer is to force the box to recode to the same output lpcm stereo as output for SD channels in the box TV setup menu.

Pretty sure the option is the same as the Foxsat-hdr.

Menu - Settings - TV Setup - Dolby Digital - Off
