I think it is turning off the Extended UPnP Security that has helped some people but your symptoms are different. Sorry no more ideas.
No matter, thanks for your suggestions, anyway.
I can just add the device when I need it, which isn't that often.
It's one of those niggling issues I'd rather try to understand than just accept and hope it goes away someday.
