I called Freesat this morning, and spoke to a lady called Emma. She informed me, that not all update notices are published, only if it is something quite significant.

Next test is have they fixed the black, blank screen when backing out of a recording.

No, happened to me last night on new firmware.

I wish they'd fix mediaplayer. Really annoying it has such a small file limit and several other bugs.

Thanks. I tried to reproduce it last night and did not find it. Which brings me to this...

We don't know whether they claim to have fixed it and have not fully succeeded, or have not attempted a fix at all.

Thanks for posting this, I would've never have known to update otherwise.

The box would of updated automatically anyway so you wouldn't of missed out if even if you hadn't of seen this thread.

Next test is have they fixed the black, blank screen when backing out of a recording. It's absurd, but all too typical of Freesat, that they release a s/w update with no release notes.

I thought that was a fault that had developed on my box, I didn't realise it was intentional. Now they've fixed the flashing trailer banner can I stop taking the epilepsy pills?

That came in with the Jan this year release. It's been widely reported on every Freesat forum.

Still no update for the HB1000S. Maybe it was indeed released by mistake.

I don't doubt it but it's obviously passed me by. I'm often muttering to myself 'what's gone wrong now' when all I get is a blank TV when I've finished watching a recording. Well at least now I know that it's an applied bug and not my box about to go tits up. I'd even thought it might be an LMB issue. Serves me right for not paying more attention.
