Have just tried an ota update using settings/installation/softwareupdate/automatic update and it found nothing. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks everyone, particularly Barry, for the essential information in getting this upgrade to install. The essential bit is, and I quote, "If you have already tried disconnecting power then unit will not boot to on, but boots to standby even though you were touching channel down, so touch standby button on front of unit and immediately touch and keep touching the channel down button until a picture appears"

Pressing standby and then the "V" was the info which was missing from the Humax support email, after which the upgrade downloaded from the USB (already in place) very quickly. 36 hours without the PVR and so much wasted time. Humax, you must do this better. At least I'll know what to do next time!

My Parents have no access to the internet so can only get updated "over the air" . Tried update overnight - still only on 46% this morning , struggled to around 50% then got an error message and machine has turned itself off with a pink light . Can not turn the box on or off by hand held device .. Any ideas ?

@StuartE - Thank you for the feedback, those instructions were essentially for users whose units are stuck in an update loop, but if it worked for you all the better. My version of usb updating instructions posted in our FAQ's.

@Nobby - Welcome to our Forum

Pink led? The only led colours I am aware of are
    blue/off
    red/ standby and or recording
purple flashing updating, on update complete.

    Is the led flashing?

Glutton for punishment, I downgraded a unit to 1.00.07 and loader 1.02 last night to see what happened with overnight updating again.

At 09:00 this morning the led was flashing purple, so it was still trying to update, probably 3rd attempt, left it alone. A few minutes later the led turned blue (standby) so guessed it had finally managed to update, on checking this is correct, now has 1.01.13 and loader 1.04. Will repeat the exercise tonight.

This appears to have caused grief for the many which is an update that will be of benefit to the few.
