    Hi there

1st post so forgive me if these things have been discussed , hopefully resolved , before

I have a FVP-4000T box and every two days or so when I turn the box on I get a picture but no sound , the only way to correct this is to turn the mains off , wait a few seconds and put the power on again

The other problem I have is the machine turns on , blue light comes on , but there is no picture or sound , again I have to turn the mains on and off to reset things

I have phoned up the help desk only to be told there is nothing they know to fix this !!!

    Welcome to our Forum

If unit is connected via HDMI then....

Sounds very much like HDMI CEC handshake issues.

Try turning off HDMI CEC option on your tv if possible, see if that helps.

I own a Samsung TV,and have the problem of no sound and vision on a regular basis after switching the box on. I resolve it by putting the box in standby, and switching on again, but can take up to three attempts.

You don't say which model of Samsung you have which is what people need to know if they are to help you. Another trick is to make sure your TV is switched on before you switch on the Humax.

On Samsung CEC is called AnyNet and other than the smaller models (19/21") all Samsung models have had that for at least 7 or 8 years past.

Do you switch off the internet router? I've noticed that the Humax does not respond if the internet has been disconnected. If you leave it on all the time it seems to start OK.

Not very good for energy saving, I like to turn off everything I can overnight.
