Here are the images of the 9200T clock board showing full views, front (2) and back (1), the timing circuit components (3) and a close-up of the super capacitor (4). The images have been compressed to meet the size limitation (<100kb). Any ideas about the white material under the super capacitor? It doesn't appear to have leaked out and the clock continues to work correctly in standby.

If you mean the silver cylinder, that is the crystal and the white substance is probably silicone adhesive to hold it down to the pcb. The super cap is the large black device in the top left hand corner.

You are absolutely correct bmax, now we know why MS_Boffin thought his labeling was different as he stated in his post #16. With a bit of zooming of picture 3 I can see the label Y921 by the crystal. A demotion from boffin I think is called for.

I'm not sure I can be demoted. Is there a category below "new member"?

Sorry if I confused anyone but hopefully the pictures will help with future clock problems.

Now I'm going to watch the F1 race I recorded earlier today

Hi I have cleaned two now and just bought one from flea bay. I have found the back of the board is very tacky, one I cleaned did not work until I cleaned the rear off the board and just I believe the white stuff is part of the build covered by IPC
