    This update has been awful for me. The box has froze every day since updating. The only way to stop is to turn off the power at the wall.

    No problems with my box.
    Try a full reset.
    Export your settings - Freeview Play Preferences. Export User Preferences.
    Then Factory Reset.
    Import saved preferences after reset

    Will I lose my recordings?

    No, I did a factory reset a couple of days ago and recordings were fine.

    I have asked for advice from Humax re Factory Reset.

    I have carried out Factory Reset twice in the last couple of Days as a test, and on each occasion recordings have been deleted which contradicts the text associated with Factory Reset.

    It could well be that I have a problem with one of my units because I do not remember it doing this before.

    I also had to do a factory reset earlier this week. My recordings were not deleted.

    Oh I would do my nut if I needed to do a factory reset and my recording were deleted too.....

    Pretty sure I did not lose any. To be certain I would make a note of how many there are.

    If you bring up the recordings list and scroll to the bottom. You get the currrent selection/total number

    I have 200/200 so 200 recordings. a 2TB unit could have a lot more. I tend to watch and delete popular series. So most are one offs not yet viewed.

    Update....recordings should not be deleted, it appears one of my units has a problem, investigating

    You can get a list using the webif Your Box IP adreess:8080.

    You can copy and paste the data to notepad.

    Note webif says I have a lot more than 1813 including current incomplete recording.

    I have found a way of counting total number of recordings. You need Excel.

    Copy the current recordings list from the Webif to the clipboard.

    Paste data into top left cell into Excel.

    Penultimate row is recordings count.

    Bit odd that a "factory reset" doesn't reset to factory status, no? Not that it's a bad thing allowing for a system reset that doesn't delete recorded data. I suppose the HDD is treated like a SD card in a phone which wouldn't have photos wiped of the phone was reset.

    Good to know it should be able to be done without any loss.

    A couple of annoying things have appeared today.

    1. On my home screen above favourite apps it shows programs for Prime Video, Disney+ and something called Joyn (never heard of it till tonight) and I can't find anyway of getting rid of them as I don't want them on there as Prime is the only one I subscribe to, and I can't find a Joyn app anywhere. I've gone to Customise your home screen>choose channels and set everything I want and disabled everything I don't want but these just won't go (done the same in settings) - All I want is favourite apps and Nova Video Player.

    2. Somethings in Discover are in German for some reason, eg. A film I have on Google Play is The Mummy but's it's listed as Die Mumie. At the bottom of Discover there is option to customise recommendations but it only allows me to select/deselect 3 - Prime Video, Disney+ and Joyn, and even when deselected they still appear on both my Home Screen and the Discover Screen.

    Any ideas?
