Bit odd that a "factory reset" doesn't reset to factory status, no? Not that it's a bad thing allowing for a system reset that doesn't delete recorded data. I suppose the HDD is treated like a SD card in a phone which wouldn't have photos wiped of the phone was reset.
Good to know it should be able to be done without any loss.
Only way to delete existing recordings is a Hard Disk Format. This should not be part of a factory reset unless it's optional extra like on a FVP unit.
It seems to be happening to Barry. It should not be formatting the hard disk.
A factory reset has never reverted the box to the firmware found when the box was new. It could be months old.
As Aura updates are now controlled by Humax based on unit serial number. A public release should not delete recordings.
