I use a virgin router but it's in modem mode, as WiFi coverage is crap.
Can you try temporarily running a cat5 cable direct to the Virgin router network switch ?
Everyone will know the numbers used anyway as all Virgin routers are the same. Depending on how many numbers are assigned to DHCP the last two will be one of these starting from from 2. Virgin use 192.162.0.xx
eg My Foxsat address ip is 192.168.1.6. It's on a netgear router. The virgin router acts only as a cable modem.
No one is asking for your router setup password. Without this the numbers are useless to anyone else.
You should reserve the box address to the box mac address to ensure it remains the same.
You can only ping an internal IP address from within your home network.
