Q1 - The HDMI Out port specification is "v1.4 with HDCP" so does this mean it will pass 4k streaming content through to my 4K TV?

Q2 - I believe a HDMI v2.0b cable is required to pass 4k content so does this specification have more pins than previous HDMI cable versions? I always thought all HDMI cables were the same and that the data transfer capability was limited to how it is handled at the output and input connections within the two devices. i.e. the technology within the devices is what matters and has nothing to do with the cable. Am I wrong?

Sorry but the answer is no. 4K requires a hdmi cable capable of a data rate of 18gbps.

None of the streaming apps on a G2 box are 4K capable.

Cheapest way into 4K at about £30:00 is the Amazon 4K firestick.

Other than that there's nothing special.

The G2 boxes do not support the H265/EHVC codec that is used to compress 4K content.
