    I had the halogen lamp as near as possible to the heatsink (but not touching). The idea is to get the temperature above 200 deg C. Use foil to shield the surrounding components.

    Meanwhile I bought a used FVP-5000T 500GB from eBay for £54 (+p&p) to get me going.

    I've marked the capacitors with asterisks. The photo resolution is not great due to the forum size limit.

    2024, so of course this device is old tech.
    It stopped working, I replaced the capacitors with Panasonic and back working!
