I was going to test on my HDR1000s to see if it's the same, but I cannot even pair the app.
After entering the pairing code nothing happens at all, the code just remains on tv and the enter code screen on my phone.

Took quite a while for pairing to be acknowledged when I set it up again.

My test of the Simpsons - recorded in HD.

Edit: Set Countdown tomorrow as next test, appears in planner to be recorded on C4HD.

Hmm, beginning to think it's just me or doesn't happen every time.

Going to try unpairing and then repairing and try some more.

Out of interest, are there issues surrounding the pairing that put you off doing it?

Thanks for all your help guys!

Tried a couple more myself last night (after unpairing and repairing) and they seemed to work. I doubt it's related so perhaps it was just a one off.

Looks like the guide automatically marks both the HD and non-HD version (which makes sense when you think about it) and that was making it look like it was more of an issue than it actually was.

Thanks again for all your help.

Now if only I could sort the horrifically clicky remote control I'd be happy ...

That's easily resolved, go buy a One For All remote, copy over any functions that are not on the basic setup and then put the original remote in a drawer and forget about it

    Last test before I unpair.

Countdown and both Simpsons set to record C4HD today, all successful on 4HD only.

Not what I did, but here's the official response from Freesat:

What I would suggest is doing a factory reset which will hopefully fix this issue for you. To do this, you have to press the 'Home' button on your remote, go into 'Settings' then 'System Settings'- here you should see the option 'Factory Reset'. If you click on this it will ask for a 4 digit pin (if you didn't choose a pin when you first installed your box, it will be the generic code of '0000'), after this your box will reset itself. Follow the steps on the screen to re-install your Humax box, and one this is done, the issue should be resolved for you.

Also, on the weekend I picked myself up a "One4all Essence 3" remote which makes an excellent replacement for the supplied clicky remote.
