First of all my apologies to anyone who has already read this question as I posted it in the wrong forum.
here's the problem, since buying my HDR 1000s 6 months ago I have been using an old Humax remote control (RM-F04) as I believe are many other users in order to allow control of my TV from the same remote. A few weeks ago the PVR stopped responding to the remote so I dug out the original unused remote. I have the same problem with this too. The only buttons that work are:- Power, Mute, Vol+, Vol-, Text and the four coloured buttons. I can only change channels using the buttons on the front of the PVR. This must be a problem within the PVR as both remotes including the new unused one do not work. I have tried pressing 2580 to reset the cache but no response to this either. It has been suggested carrying out a factory default but I don't want to lose my recordings unless it's absolutely necessary. Does anyone have an alternative suggestion?

A factory reset will not delete recordings.

    Thanks Barry,

You previously pointed me to this:-

Bottom file on this page - http://beta.humaxonline.co.uk/freesat-hd

Which says it's an update file. This update file was released after I bought my system so presumably will not be the same as mine.

Just to be clear, are there any possible ill effects of implementing this update?

    "Version: 118

This file is to be downloaded if you are experiencing difficulty with:
    - No OnDemand
    - No Showcase
    - No backwards EPG"

    Thanks, Mike

It is not an update file as such, just puely a reset file, should have no adverse effects.

Thanks for the help Barry, rebooted my pvr using the reset file you suggested and normal service has resumed.

    Much appreciated.
