I will try and have a look at what the actual video is and also see if my HDR-1000S reports 1080p when played back tomorrow. Mine is set to convert all input to 1080p50.

My Humax only has the option for 1080p or 1080i.

My Humax only has the option for 1080p or 1080i.

It should have from memory all the SD options from 576i up to HD. Can't check till tomorrow.

1080i is 1920 x 1080 interlaced 50 field/ second upper field first 25fps (as broadcast so no option is required for a HD channel source
so nothing to change). ). 1080p is de-interlaced to produce a intermediate 1080p25 stage and frame doubled to create a 1080p50 output. So the two options are all you have.

Setting 720p should downscale to 1280/720 (if not already 1280 x 720) and create 50 fps.

If the source isn't 16:9, the vertical resolution may be reduced from 1080 to create black borders top and bottom to preserve the wider than 16:9 format.

You will normally only see this on downloaded video content.

    Basically these are the standard

My TV info says content is 1080p50Hz 16:9. Stream cast from Galaxy Tab S7 to HDR-1000S.

Unfortunately the G2 boxes lack a original resolution setting so you can't over-ride the scaler resolution you have set in the box settings.
