    Hi Keith, that is really interesting. My Sharp bar connects to the Sony TV via ARC output. My Humax, is not connected directly to the soundbar, just to another HDMI socket on TV. Are you saying I should connect the soundbar directly to the Humax with this device? Is that a similar set up to your Yamaha?

    Colirv: Unfortunately, there is no optical audio IN on the Sharp Bar. Which is annoying as I have this cable.

    Hi yam

    Yes, both my Sony Blu Ray and Humax connect into the Yamaha soundbar and the ARC from the Samsung TV connects into the ARC socket on the Yamaha. Then this M-F connector from Lindy connects on the end of the cable from the Humax into the soundbar. Doesn't matter on which end of the cable you fit it though. So I use the soundbar as the switcher between the Sony and Humax rather than the tv.
